At WAS 2012-08-03 in the Acela lounge the supposedly station-wide wifi allowed connection but then totally failed.

To where should I direct complaints that the supposed wifi at WAS that doesn't exist.

Every other Starbucks I ever was at had wifi. Every airport. Every coffee shop - not just Starbucks. But WAS Starbucks had none - because of depending on the "station wifi" that doesn't work?

Where to complain about this totally worthless so-called wifi that even the cheapest McDonalds can make work?

Where to address complaint? Is it WAS or AMTK or -- ?

Edit

USA-RAIL 0700 to 2200 EDT

Did you bring the fact that the wifi was not working to anybody's attention?

You mentioned the CA, did you ask at the front desk?

They may have just had to reset the router. (I sometime have to reset my router at home!) Amtrak.can not fix something that their not aware of that's wrong!

Sorry to be blunt, but if you didn't say anything was wrong at the time to some Amtrak employee you may not have a leg to stand on. I could (but I wouldn't) also send a letter to Amtrak that the wifi at WAS did not work - even though I was 500 miles away!

Reliability of :Free WiFi: is sometimes an at-your-own-risk proposition.

I would have told the front desk, then used the Starbucks one .....

Agreed. If the WiFi isn't working at the station, in the Starbucks, in the tavern that advertises it, anywhere there's spozed to be free WiFi—speak up, for Pete's sake! Ninety-nine per cent of the time, a router reset is all that's needed. Sometimes so many people are playing their pooters on one router that the bandwidth gets choked and things slow down.
