Old ROW in Chicago

I was riding the blue line in from O'Hare to CUS last week and noticed what looked like an old elevated ROW near the Western stop. Anyone know what I am talking about and can tell me what it was I saw?

I think you might be referring to the "Bloomingdale Line". You can read more about it here:

It was not an "elevated" in the sense of Rapid Transit. It was rather a conventional railroad line carrying freight and passenger trains.

If you follow the bed to the west, you'll see some cars shortly before it reaches other rail lines.

It's an old Milwaukee Road line that will be converted into an elevated bike route. The west end of the line is Pacific Junction where the old Milwaukee Road line from Union Station to Milwaukee (now Metra Milwaukee District North/Amtrak/CP) splits from the old Milwaukee Road line to Omaha (now Metra Milwaukee District West/CP).
