I recently purchased my first AGR reward ticket, and was wondering if it's possible to upgrade those tickets onboard for sleeper accommodations?

As the traveler might say: NO!!!!!! If you havent received the ticket you can call AGR and see about either changing the ticket

if you have the points, redoing the ticket into paid/award tickets which will allow a sleeper part of the way, or on board taking a chance

and PAYING (as the traveler shudders!LOL)for an upgrade to a sleeper,if available,@ perhaps a steep price, perhaps buying points

if you are short might help, not knowing your route, when you are going etc. limits the advice!Call AGR for specifics!

Jim - what he is asking is, once he gets on board using an AGR ticket, may he, then, as anyone can, ask for an upgrade. That is, does using an AGR ticket prohibit the upgrade process once onboard. I wouldn't think that it would, but others may know for sure.

One can upgrade an AGR issued coach ticket to a sleeping compartment once onboard by paying the conductor the applicable low bucket fare for that sleeping compartment. That of course assumes that a room is still left at the time of boarding.
