so i have a ticket, "bought" with 3000 AGR points for tomorrow... my friend that i was going to visit might need to cancel... now AGR is closed on weekends so would I be able to call on Monday if i need to re-book? or will it be too late since my train leaves Sat 10am..

my return trip was paid for with my credit card and i know i can call up til the time train leaves.. but once its left tuff luck. but like I said AGR is closed on Sat.. so do i need decide/know TONIGHT by 8am if I am going..?

Don't know exactly about the AGR issue, but you can still get a refund after the train leaves if it is just coach. Its the accommodation charges that are tuff luck after the train leaves.

i dont know about that.. i think i'm pretty sure that once it leaves - thats all folks:

Your entire reservation (all segments) will be cancelled if you do not pick up your tickets before your first departure or if you no-show for any segment in your reservation. If your reservation cancels, you will need to make a new reservation, which may be at a higher fare.

Just because your reservation is canceled doesn't mean you cant get a refund. I have no showed for a few reservations and had no trouble getting a refund or credit for a new ticket.

But you said that you "bought" it with AGR points, so it doesn't matter the "cost". A trip that you can pay $52 cash for "costs" 3,000 AGR points, a trip that you can pay $68 cash for "costs" 3,000 AGR points and a trip that you can pay $85 cash for "costs" 3,000 AGR points!

When redeeming an AGR award for a roomette, it could "cost" $500, $700 or $1,200 - but all "cost" me 20,000 AGR points! That's why the "value per point" could be like 3.8¢/point, 3.7¢/point or 7.3¢/point. Not to brag (too much :p ) , but once I grabbed the last room on the train and got a value per point of 12.1¢/point - and it still "cost" me only 20,000 AGR points!

If your reservation does get cancelled, your points will just be redeposited into your AGR account.
