Organizations

I would like to know the list of organizaions that supports passenger rail systems, such as Amtrak, commuters, etc. Please include with their website, if there is one. All I know is NARP.

I'm seriously thinking to join an organization.

Many states have their own rail organization. I always keep up with TxARP, here in Texas. It helps me keep up to date with what going on locally as well as Amtrak here in Texas. There are other just city wide groups that support rail, and I try to go to their meetings, such as the North Central Texas Council of Governments, and several transit authorities. I've been a member of NARP for quite some time, and feel they do a pretty good job. If you ride the rails, they offer a 10% discount by showing the NARP card.

Just adding my 2 cents in this.

I joined after buying my tickets for the trip I and my family are taking next week, but hope to take advantage of the discount sometime later this year. I did get those tickets retroactively credit to Guest Rewards accounts for everyone, though.
