I must report on the condition of the train station at Camden, SC.
To begin with, Amtrak gets you there at such ungodly hour.
There are only two trains a day serving Camden. The southbound train is scheduled to arrive
at Camden at 1:00 AM, and The northbound train is scheduled at 2:00 AM.
The station is in need of repair, windows are broken out, and all doors are locked securely. Passengers
can not wait inside the station.
I rode train 92 northbound on Tuesday, Jan 16th. I was there at the scheduled time of 2:00 AM,
and the train was running 1 1/2 hours late! I waited there from 1:30 until 3:30 AM when the
train finally arrived. At least there is a roof there, in case it rained, and plenty of light at the track
side of the station, but no facilities available, and one can not wait inside. Fortunately, the weather
was not that cold.
