I got a tip from a friend of mine who works for Amtrak about the location of the Anniversary Engines... and they coordinated well with my days off last week (May 24 & 25)... so I spent 2 days chasing the engines and trying to get as many photos as possible.
On May 24, I heard they would be on the in-bound California Zephyr (#6)... so I took the westbound Carl Sandberg (Train #381) that morning to Galesburg and rode #6 back in. Since I was doing more riding on the special train set than photographing, I headed to the Roosevelt and 18th Street bridges to get some photos in after the train came in and went back to wye in the yards. I think I got some good shots.
The following day, May 25, I heard #66 was going down to Carbondale and back on #391 and #392 so I did the long daytrip down to Carbondale to get some photos of the engine down there.
