I'm trying to plan a trial run from LCH to SAS to convince my Mom how great riding the train is. It seems the schedule has changed. Now LCH to SAS is 1:55 pm to 12:05 am. So a roomette wouldn't be necessary, but I want her to see how nice they are. We would stay 2 days in San Antonio. How many AGR points would it take for a roomette/coach or roomette both ways? Thank you.

That would be a 1 Zone Award which should be 15,000 Points each way for Roomette or 5,500 each way for Coach. But for that short of a run it is a sheer waste of Points. I'd go ahead and pay fare and end up EARNING additional Points and use those on a nice long haul sometime in the future.

Are there two people going? If so, a roomette is 15,000 points for TWO people but the coach awards are one person only. I would do roomettet!
