Can you upgrade to sleeper?

Minnie, yes, you can upgrade your coach tickets to sleeper. However, there is no benefit any longer to waiting until you are on the train. The conductor will sell you the sleeper at the current price, which is the same price you get by calling 1800 USA RAIL. So if you want ot upgrade your current reservation, just give amtrak a call and do it.
