Politico is reporting that a local Phoenix AZ political consultant is claiming that Rep Ed Pastor (D-AZ) is on the short list to replace LaHood as Secretary of Transportation. Politico mentions he is a

...Longtime advocate and tireless champion for public transportation.

Don't see a whole lot of transportation in his background, but sounds like he has his head screwed on mostly straight.
