And I’ve got to say, a very pleasant experience. I’m with my 80 year old mom and dad.
I swear they cannot pack less than four bags and quite possibly a steamer trunk for an overnight trip. They are in room C and I am in roomette 5.
I had the best redcap experience ever. Mom has a mobility scooter. Weighs in at 60 pounds and folds up to about the size of a large suitcase.
Redcap put it on the train seamlessly, then brought the 6 other various bags aboard, Just grand, He has my gratitude and a good tip.
Then the train is underway and even though it is 8.00 pm we still are offered dinner. Didn‘t expect that...it’s flex but even so there are real flowers
on the table, and a guy with a gituar came up from coach and is singing “City of New Orleans” in the sightseeing lounge and everyone is happy.
This is why I love the train. Maybe not what it used to be on this route, but still unique. Mom and dad are having a blast, although dad confesses he is a little put out with the “constant horns”!
Its 12.19 am on the City of New Orleans…well…you know the rest!
