Well saidI am sorry to hear of any bloodshed anywhere in the world. I wonder what the difference is between Boston and Volgograd? Should we tourists avoid America as well as Russia?

That's like saying, "This horrible thing happened in Philadelphia, which is less than 700 miles from Kalamazoo, MI." (It's 673)It is the second bombing in the southern Russian city in two months and comes less than six weeks ahead of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, located less than 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) from Volgograd.
Just to let you know, the Soviet Union dissolved 22 years ago, 1991.This is good reason for America to step aside this round of the Olympics. The Soviets are having enough trouble getting these to go off as planned and security seems to be seriously lacking.
That kind of low effort reasoning is no different than saying everyone should have avoided Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana after Timothy McVeigh blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. If you had spent most of your life training for what is likely to be a once-in-a-lifetime Olympic run how would you feel about someone claiming all American participants should be forced to boycott the games whether they they feel it's safe enough or not? I'd rather let the participants make that decision for themselves. If there is a lesson to be learned from the last forced boycott I'd suggest it was that little or nothing was accomplished, except to deprive hundreds of innocent participants of their opportunity to win. This is good reason for America to step aside this round of the Olympics.
