What a beautiful trip! The scenery on this train is just gorgeous-the Pacific Ocean (we saw dolphins and a whale, lots of fruit and vegetable farms. We woke up our second day in the mountains and snow.We went through forests and mountain passes where there weren't any roads.We saw eagles, hawks, ducks and geese. Just beautiful! The Pacific Parlor Car is great. It was quiet with wonderful views and food. Every afternoon there is a complimentary wine and cheese tasting and every night you receive a small free bottle of CA champagne. The SCA puts a small bag containing shampoo, lotion,etc. in each room. This train is what makes train travel great. Our next segment was the Empire Builder from Portland.
