Silver Meteor today (1/18/15)

97(18) ran on a special schedule between NYP and WAS today. It departed NYP at 12 noon and arrived in WAS at 4pm. It arrived at one of the upper level platforms and stayed there until it was moved to a lower level platform sometime after 6pm to be joined with the rest of the special. It left two minutes after its regular schedule from WAS, and is expected in RVR a little ahead of schedule.

I saw it zoom by BWI while I was on a points run and that is how came to know of its unusual schedule today. I met up with it twice in WAS before I headed off to IAD.

Today's Silver Meteor (97) is the PBC safety patrol special.

The Silver Star and Meteor sleeper cars are fully booked for tomorrow.

Still wish they would put in a Special Train instead of calling this one the Meteor. Ugh. Anyway, it came through SAV about an hour earlier than usual. I guess I missed all the specials this year. Well, there's always next year.
