When I picked up the latest "national timetable" I noticed the Silver Palm was gone... Anyone have any info on this??? Also what's with the xeroxed copy of the NE Corridor timetable??? The nice book has been replaced by a piece of paper... What's happening here??

The Silver Palm has been gone since last Spring. It is now called the Palmetto and only has coach and business class services with a lounge car. No diner or sleepers.

My guess is, that since the new timetables are due out in about 2 weeks, they ran out of the current NE schedules so you received a substitute to carry you through the next two weeks.

The Northeast Corridor had its last timetable change effective Saturday, August 3rd. On that day, a weekend project began in the North River tunnels between New York City and New Jersey that necessitated single tracking. Schedules changed for weekend trains only -- all weekday trains were left alone. Because of this, no Northeast Timetable update was published. However, smaller, card timetables were published, showing just certain parts of the Northeast Corridor.

The next general change is October 27, 2002, and around that date, new Northeast and National timetables should be available.

This will be the first timetable issued after Warrigtons been gone. I wonder if there will actually be a train on the cover?
Amfleet, I agree there should be a train on the cover. On the April 29th National Timetable, you've got a girl holding 7 tulips, a man in a black shirt touching fruit with one hand, and another guy in a beige shirt, also with his hand on fruit and holding a paper lunch bag, making eye contact with the girl while the guy on the left touches the fruit.

WHAT ON EARTH DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH AMTRAK?? :D

How about an Acela on the Northeast Cover and a P-42 like the one here on the national cover since Gunn likes the Arrow, like many including me.

Acela? With or without cracked yaw damper brackets?

How 'bout the Auto Train, Silver Meteor, and Captiol Limited derailent for the front cover of the National Timetable, and a picture of a cracked Acela Express yaw damper bracket for the Northeast Timetable. On the back of the timetables in big red letters it can say GUNN RULES!!! :D

Without, that was some Birthday present, finding those cracked yaw damper brackets. B)

The reason there were no trains on the cover of the last timetable is that Warrington was probably trying to deflect attention away from the woeful product that he was offering.

Does this mean I will soon be seeing pictures of fruit stands and strange-looking people on the cover of the NJ TRANSIT timetables? When collected in a bunch, they already look like the inside of a fruit basket with all those vibrant colors for each route.

At least these schedules now have paintings of trains, not photos of them.

Well not only will you probably see odd timetable covers for NJ Tramsit, but guess who's doing the paint scheme being apllied to the new Comet cars. Yes that's right, the inventer of the "Amfleet Blob"
