Here's another incident near Charlotte. A tow truck who had moments before repossessed a car, crossed some railroad tracks and the car came loose. It landed in the middle of the tracks and was soon t-boned by an Amtrak train. One has to wonder if the owner can claim it on their insurance and now pay off the loan. Although, if he didn't make his car payment, he probably didn't pay his insurance premium either.

Here's another story about it.

It was the 141 Northeast Reagional heading south out of Springfield per WTNH. No injuries.

Looks like the truck got stuck going over the crossing.

I still can't understand how the proposed so-called "high speed rail" is supposed to operate on that line.

Also today a Shoreline East train derailed, but I don't believe there were any passengers aboard at the time.

'fredevad' ask for more info on the shore line east train that derailed.

Based on the pictures it derail going over an grade level crossing, found an picture of an Amtrak MOW clearing the ice out of the crossing. There is an Ferry station next to the station, that you cross the tracks to get to it. So the cause will be the first train of the day cross an ice/snow filled grade level crossing, and the Cab car lead truck pop off the track. Standard winter time oops. At least nobody but the crew was on the train.

Edit done to avoid confuse the reader on which train derail and which train ran into FedEx truck.

Looks like it was the AMTK 40 that did the damage. The Engineer apparently reacted well, and the train was only traveling at about 15 MPH when it happened. No significant damage to the equipment, the motor is still out on the road, so the truck got the worst of it, and the flat screen TVs that were inside.

If the FedEx truck was split in two, does that mean FedEx will make two deliveries?
