I got a strange email about my reservation. Is their computer messed up?

-------------

Our records indicate that your upcoming travel on reservation 9****** has been impacted by one or more schedule changes with the following details:

You will depart on Amtrak train number 03** from ****-MICHIGAN on Tuesday*** at 6:50AM and arrive in ***-ILLINOIS on Tuesday *** at 8:12AM.
You will depart on Amtrak number from on at : and arrive in on at :.
We apologize for any inconvenience. To speak to an Amtrak representative about alternate travel options call us at 8772319448 at your earliest convenience. Thank you for being a valued Amtrak customer.

What should I do? Their depart time and numbers are all missing.

I got something similar and all it was was the train was getting into the destination about ten minutes earlier.

I got a similar e-mail from Amtrak, and I also was confused at first.

However, I bolded two sentences from the e-mail that should make it more clear. The first bolded sentence indicates your new schedule. The second bolded one is an error/duplicate. You'll notice that it contains exactly the same words, it's just missing the pertinent train/timetable info.

Clearly, someone at Amtrak is supposed to "fill in the blanks" with the pertinent info, but they're also including a second sentence without the info.

Got the exact same message and I guess that I will need to call to find out exactly what this schedule change is. My two r=trains are the Empire Builder and Cardinal so anything is possible.

I also received one of these emails (and a corresponding phone call) for an upcoming trip. That second line is blank and I guess Its probably there as a placeholder if another part of your trip is also affected. In my case, the train was leaving 10 minutes earlier as indicated in a published schedule change.

Whats interesting is that a couple of weeks after making my reservation and receiving my eTicket months ago, I was emailed a new ticket with the correction.

The nature of the email and phone call makes it sound like something major has happened and you have to change your travel plans. Not the case with my reservation. When you call Amtrak (which you should) from your phone of record, "Julie" knows you received a phone call about a reservation change and offers to transfer your call to the proper representative.
