Subway Parking MBTA

Is there any reason that the MBTA which advocates taking cars off the highways, charges high parking fee's which makes it less likely to get people to take the train in

Because not everyone can walk to the train or subway?? I don't know.. While I agree that $4 is to much compared to some folks who have to pay for a permit or pay a daily fee of a varying range.

Logically they should charge just high enough to fill the lot.

Logically subway stations should be in downtown locations and have no parking lots.

MBTA is not just subways. It is also buses and commuter rail! There are no subways that go from Boston to Worcester, Attleboro or Rockport - but you can get there on MBTA (commuter rail).

OK, it is. But you can also catch the subway in Forest Hills, Riverside, Quincy or Revere. None of those are located anywhere near downtown.

Maybe, but Forest Hills on the Orange Line is southwest of downtown Boston. In fact you pass it just before BBY.
