Again…..Canadian Pacific will honour Veterans with special Remembrance Day/Veterans Day services at the Calgary Headquarters on November 11th and also at 11:01am, all CP trains and engines across Canada and the United States will sound their horn in tribute to the men and women who have served their country. (Wonder if this would apply to the Empire Builder as it would be on the CPR at 11am between La Crosse and Tomah WI.

Canadian Pacific has always honoured veterans and fallen soldiers, a considerable number (33,000) were CP employees. Here’s the Memorial in Windsor Station, Montreal and the same memorial in the .PDF (below) shown during the war years:

Where I live in Canada, it's a statutory holiday……no shopping at the mall or Walmart today!.......they are required to be closed in respect. And this year especially, after last month’s terrorist attacks at the National War Memorial in Ottawa and at Saint Jean-sur-Richelieu…..they are expecting large crowds at services across the country[SIZE=10.5pt]. We could use a few of those down here.

Totally agree! Its not even Thanksgiving and the damn Christmas Commercials and Ads are replacing the just as bad Political ones!

The Great White North still has class and style, sort of what the US used to be like before we became Mega Mall World!

Let's all take time today to remember those who serve and who have served this Land we Love despite the over the top Commercialism!
