An Amtrak agent, while helping me with a different issue, mentioned that I had cell phone number xxxx on my reservation. I said it was not a valid number and asked how it got attached. The agent said it came from my AGR profile and I needed to call AGR to have it removed. I had done this twice before, and this time the AGR agent said it was not in my profile. The AGR agent said it was part of the reservation and he could not edit the reservation.
Since I made the reservation yesterday and AGR agents had assured me during my previous calls (months ago) that the old number had been deleted, I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Following the AGR agent's suggestion, I entered the one valid number in all three blocks for a domestic phone number in my profile. Of course, it is too soon to tell if that obliterated the old number, which seems to be hiding somewhere.
Does someone have any other suggestion? I do not have a profile with Amtrak. Thanks for any help.
