Tigard Ballot Measure 34-210 has officially passed, according to election returns released Wednesday by Washington County.
Fifty-one percent of voters approved the measure, which now requires Tigard to change its city charter to officially oppose new construction of high-capacity transit projects without voter approval. The city will also have to reiterate that position in an annual letter to the governor, the Oregon Department of Transportation, TriMet, Metro, Washington County and the Federal Transit Administration.
