Understanding the Point Bonus on Member Tier?

Due to the new earning potential of the AGR World Card, we should be able to enjoy select staus within a few months. At this member category it says that the point bonus on tickets is an extra 25%. I am not clear on this have a few questions and looking for helpful info. ;

Is the 25% points bonus (select member) applied when you purchase your tickets or is it applied after you complete your travel? Is this added to the double points on rail purchases because that in itself is a 50% bonus. I assume then that select status provides 75% extra bonus points on a ticket. Correct?

Does the point bonus apply to the total ticket price or just the amount that applies to the AGR holder?

After you reach the member plaeau, do you stay in that membership category for a year thereafter?

If a forum member would chime in on this with the correct info it would be apprecdiated.

Your point bonus only applies to the base points. So if you're collecting 200 points, no matter what other bonuses you might get, your Select bonus would only be 50 points.

I have Select Plus with a 50% bonus. Right now if I have a 100 point segment with double days, I get the Double Days bonus of 100 points plus the Select Plus bonus of 50 points.

Oh - I forgot about your question about when the points accrue. As with all other points from tickets, nothing happens until you actually use your ticket for travel. There's always the possibility that you cancel, modify, etc, so you'll only get points for "butt in seat".

If you reach Select mid-year, you should immediately qualify for the Select points bonus. However, it might take some time for the points to register, and if points are accrued out of order, they might have some "bookkeeping" to properly apply the bonus. You might also get a notice where you can print a "card" with your status. Your Select status is the then guaranteed until Feb 2017.
