The Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development at DePaul University has issued a new paper entitled, "New Directions: 2023 Outlook for the Intercity Bus Industry in the United States".

Thought some of the bus travel advocates here might find the information useful.

Here is a link to access the paper, and will allow you to either view it online or download a .pdf copy onto your own system.

Thanks. They are usually upbeat, no matter how grim things are, so I'll be interested to read it.

Its amazing to me how much Greyhound has cut back just in recent years, its almost completely unusable for anyone even considering it. A lot of things with Amtrak might need to be reconsidered in light of this, especially around Thruway. So many major cities have lost their downtown stops or Greyhound service altogether in the last 5 years. Many cities are lucky if they have a stop at a gas station on the outskirts once a day now. The bus terminal has almost become a thing of the past, with the recent sale of Greyhound for only $40 million, the whole value of Greyhound was in the real estate of their terminals and garages (the prior owner retained the real estate holdings).
