Madison will be the second in a series of nine town halls being held starting Tuesday that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation says will focus on "getting feedback from people around the state about transportation needs and how the state should finance those needs in the future."
All Aboard Wisconsin says in a message to its members that it's "another opportunity...to show...their interest in and support for public transportation, including more passenger trains to more communities with better connectivity" to each other.
The Madison town hall in what WisDOT labels its "Transportation Moves Wisconsin" initiative will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 9), at its southwest region office at 2101 Wright St. There's also a way to offer comments via a web link that already is operational.
Read more from All Aboard Wisconsin at the link about other town halls in the series and some additional sources of information about transportation funding challenges. (There's also information there about WisDOT's recently-adopted State Rail Plan and the effort to be made to reintroduce in January of legislation, unsuccessful this session, to require biennial updating of the State Rail Plan.) http://twl.sh/1lAz3Q8
