Simply Railway just released a video of the refurbished coaches SNCF is using for their overnight services. It looks likely SNCF did a good job on the refurbished couchettes, but I'm really curious about the 300 new cars order. Will they order sleeping cars for some routes? Offering pod-couchettes like Nightjet seems like an obvious choice. On-board showers would be nice, but I think offering showers at major stations would be easier.

It's the French government, not SNCF, that plans to order 300 new cars and 30 locomotives (2022 order, 2025-2030 deliveries). The operator will then be selected in a tender process, it can SNCF or it can be other companies too.
The order will encompass seating, couchettes, and sleeping cars.

(ÖBB is also refurbishing couchette cars... but using former seating cars Nightjet Upgrade )
