Report from KMOV TV, St. Louis:

Authorities are investigating a train accident in south St. Louis County

An Amtrak train was traveling along the Mississippi River when it hit a backhoe that had been parked too close to the tracks.

The accident happened Friday morning in a wooded area at the base of the bluff near Christopher and Nellie.

SkyZoom 4 was over the scene. It was clear that a piece of the construction equipment had been knocked away in the collision. There was no obvious damage to train that could be seen from the air.

No one was injured in the accident.

There is no word on how many people were on the train.
