#58 passed me at track speed northbound as I was driving south of Hammond, LA this afternoon. Consist had three locos and eleven cars. Odd thing~ there was a Heritage baggage car about third from the rear and everything else was Superliner equipment. Is Chicago sending cars to NOL to thaw out?

Overall I could see the need to send cars down to thaw. However I'm not sure why a baggage car would need to be thawed out. It has no water anywhere in the car.

I'm sure Chicago shops have their hands full...maybe the bag went to NOL for other repairs. Just shoveling out the brake rigging is a major job let alone repairing same.

I dunno about the thaw out part. It was 26 F here just north of Orlando this morning. Revolting!
Indecent

Must be something about the tropical climate. :p
Aloha

There is one  drawback since it is warm I usually sleep next to the window, with the windows wide open, more than once I am awakened by the rain blowing in the window on me. Makes for unusual dreams, waking up soaked head to waist.

Does that mean I will need more Pineapple Juice to replace the the Orange juice. This should help the passenger on time performance without the Florida Fruit express trans.
