The named trains equipped with Airo sets would be the Palmetto, the Carolinian, the Pennsylvanian, the Maple Leaf the Adirondack, the Vermonter etc. I’d presume.
What confuses me is that some named trains are mentioned and some aren't. Separately, I can't figure out why the Pennsylvanian, Carolinian and Palmetto need eight trainsets. It should be six, and maybe a seventh for a spare. I have to conclude that whoever wrote the entire pool distribution list doesn't know much about the trains that run in it.
Only named trains that use Amfleet Is are mentioned since Airos are replacement for Amfleet Is.
That's the trouble. I forgot about the second Pennsylvanian frequency. That makes the count add up, though I though the desired shop margin was more like 10%. I know that hasn't often been Amtrak's reality.
My understanding was that North Carolina was being built to assemble other things, though that was from a very early report.
Whether NC takes on Airo or non-Airo Venture work, it still increases the overall US passenger car output. I believe the NC plant is for Siemens passenger cars including Venture and Airo but I don't have any specific source for this.
