We'd like to leave a car for a few nights at GWD in November. Amtrak's website says overnight parking is "available."

Can anyone confirm this from recent experience? Is it free? Do we need to notify anyone when we're leaving our car?

Thanks in advance for your help.
 
We left our car parked in the lot across from the station in Hattiesburg and nothing happened. These little Mississippi towns have no protected parking. I don't know what to say. I guess it depends on what catalytic converters are selling and if the lumber mill just laid off a bunch of workers. You could call the local PD and ask them to keep an eye on it.
