Update to our bus detour: I called Customer Service and they sent me a $200.00 voucher! Time to plan a new trip! Any suggestions on using the voucher with an AGR trip? I assume I should just make separate rez. Thank you guys so much for your advice.

The bus was really rough-riding and uncomfortable. Customs was easy. We had to take our luggage off the bus into the Custom station, show our passports and get back on. They didn't open our bags.

Could I do this trip with AGR? The only place that I would like to spend some time is probably Raton/Trinidad. If this is possible, how many points would it take? Thank you.

I posted my question on Flyertalk.com (no response yet). I would just like to know if I will have a room all the way home, whatever changes Amtrak makes. We used to love Amtrak travel, not so sure now, depending on how this trip plays out.
