How much of this can be AGR?

Montreal is within the Eastern Region/Northeast Zone and is perfectly acceptable as an AGR award city. Only the Maple Leaf can't be ticketed beyond Niagara Falls, ON on AGR points due to the VIA segment (VIA wants their revenue, not a free ticket!) I do agree with you on business class -- the...

How much of this can be AGR?

Having taken both several times, the Adirondack is probably the better trip! Easier customs situation, better scenery, no change of crews, etc.

Points not posting - Agent not being helpful

Oh, I see. How quickly did your trips typically post prior to eTicketing (like before last summer/fall)? I remember that for me, it would take at least several days but sometimes up to two weeks depending on what was going on.

Points not posting - Agent not being helpful

That sounds pretty weird. Out of curiosity, did you have these sorts of issues before the days of eTicketing? Or is it a fairly recent problem?

Membership qualification and tier changes for 3/2013

The agent was just trying to explain Select Executive and did so poorly. It is a brand new concept to those agents and they are still getting accustomed to it.

I restored the old CAPTCHA scheme until I can fix the new one.

Using awards points for existing reservations

Yeah, the exact same reservation can't be used, but the agent can try to recreate your itinerary as a new booking and use points from the start.

    Getting tickets--AGR and credit card

I can try to ask a few people if that's still a valid option or not. I had forgotten about the old thread. A call to an AGR agent at 1-800-307-5000 will give you an answer right away, though. :)

    AGR cancellation policy

The 2013 sleeper redemption cancellation policy was rescinded and never took effect. This thread is now closed, and further discussion should be consolidated here.

    Can i Do This

Just to be clear, Amtrak no longer allows customers to pay the upgrade dollar differential on board to go from a coach points ticket to a sleeper. Either you must use all money, or all points. https://amtrakguestr...s.com/info/news

    Getting tickets--AGR and credit card

1-800-307-5000 The plan you describe is a bit confusing -- an AGR roomette sleeper award using points is good for up to two people, so there is no need to spend actual money to cover your or your son's rail fare. Do you mean to say that you would take a roomette for one direction, and then...

    AGR points for voucher use?

If the money came from a transportation credit you got for a complaint to customer relations, then no, it won't earn points. But money that you paid Amtrak at one point, such as in an exchange or refund voucher, is fair game.

can you transfer choice hotel points to agr

Yep, although not a great exchange rate: http://www.choicehotels.com/en/choice-privileges/gp/travelrewards

    Acela

Northeast Regional business class provides unlimited soda, coffee, and juice - the attendant may want you to come back for additional drinks instead of giving them to you all at once, but there is no limit of one drink. The drinks are usually kept in a refrigerated cabinet, but if they aren't...

    AGR cancellation policy

The current policy is that you can cancel all the way until date and time of departure for your itinerary. Furthermore, if AGR decides to change the policy at all (which would not take place until March 1), they've already said that agents will have full discretion to waive any and all penalty...

Could a "pass through" fare work?

Pretty sure the threshold between transfer and stopover is 23 hours, 30 minutes, not 23:59.
