    Select Packet for 2012???

The cards are produced annually, with validity starting March 1st each year, but the coupons in the packet are good for 12 months from the time you get them. By March 1st, you'll get another packet for 2013 including the 2013 select card.

    Rail Pass Issue

Are you able to use a local travel agent to purchase your California Rail Pass? Amtrak's Web site alludes to that possibility. http://www.amtrak.com/california-rail-pass

    E-ticket/AGR Points

Jim, was your AGR member number correctly indicated on the reservation and printed on the eTicket receipts? Maybe check it for accuracy, as well as the exact spelling of your name against the AGR account? i.e. if the ticket says Jim but your account name is James, this will not work.

    Julie the Virtual Assistant

She is referring to "Ask Julie," the new feature on Amtrak.com -- not the phone voice. It was just launched today. http://www.amtrak.com/about-julie-amtrak-virtual-travel-assistant

    KCY > CBS 2-zone blocked

But because the redemptions are one-way, and a circle or continuous trip is not a mitigating factor, you end up with one two-zone one-way trip, and another two-zone one-way trip.

    KCY > CBS 2-zone blocked

You redeem for the number of zones you travel through, in each direction. All redemptions are one way, so if you travel through two zones to get from KCY to LAX, then through two zones again from LAX/PDX to CBS, then there you are.

Business class on Northeast Corridor trains

No curtains in an Amfleet I coach. The 2-1 BC seating is generally only found on predictable schedules which aren't marketed as Northeast Regional service. Example - the Vermonter. Exception - Trains 66 & 67 (the overnight trains) have 2-1 BC seating. No cart service on a Northeast Regional...

Business class on Northeast Corridor trains

Obviously this is at the LSA's discretion - if you are walking away with 12 Pepsi cans in an hour, they might cut you off out of fairness to others... :)

Business class on Northeast Corridor trains

Regional business class passengers can have as many non-alcoholic drinks as they want, until the inventory of free drinks runs out. There is no one-drink limit. You can even ask for a couple at a time if you wish, since the lines can be long.

    Cell Phone Amtrak App

There is a known bug with the mobile app for some complex reservations originally booked online, but later modified by a human agent. Rest assured that your printed eTickets are correct, and any Amtrak phone agent can send you an email confirmation if you want to be sure. Also, the mobile bar...

    ONR

Some cars have that red decor, and others are blue/grey. The seat cushions were a bit tired and not well fastened to the chair, and the cushion material kind of gave out after many hours of sitting. One can go sit in the cafe or choose a different seat if desired, I suppose.

    Confused on pricing

Sorry to "derail" the thread, Gingee, but we have no other way of communicating with Nathanael and we have seized the opportunity. With respect to the terms and conditions, please know that they are generic verbiage supplied by the software developers of the discussion forum software. While...

    ONR

I did the Toronto-Cochrane round trip last weekend. Cool scenery, long ride, and the best bet for dinner in Cochrane was a decent Chinese place down the street. The train was a little bit late, and being Sunday evening, other places (including the restaurant in the station) were closed. The...
