Transition sleeper is half crew car, half passengers. It also has a low door on one end so it can connect to a single level car like the baggage car. 421/422 is sometimes on the rear and sometimes right behind the transition sleeper. Never can tell. I have always found the 421/422 rooms...

There is only one FULL sleeper. The transition sleeper is also in use for passengers. You said 321 but it is actually 421/422. On days of 422/421, if you choose the 21/22 sleeper, you will be in the transition sleeper.

Friend of mine was on 421 last Friday and it was up front behind the transition car. Cannot figure out why they sometimes have it up front and sometimes on the rear.

At one point there was talk that only passengers departing sleeper (not arriving) would be allowed in. Did that ever happen? Or did the rules end up being the same as the old lounge.

Weird. Every time I have reserved, the 421/422 sleeper was always cheaper that the 21/22 sleeper. I also thought the full sleeper was on the rear full time now. Is that not the case?

I would keep trying. Try mid morning during a weekday. I usually do that time based on the theory that the more senior/experienced agents are working normal business hours. Again, they did it for me just a couple of weeks ago.

Did it with an AGR and paid reservation only a couple of weeks ago. AGR agent did both for me no problems and no extra charges.

Last time I rode there was no backup to cut off the St Louis coach. Simply pulled away and left it for another loco to move. Don't recall what happened when we picked it up.

Fort Worth use to require a backup. But now that it uses TRE route it is pull through. Don't think there are any that currently require backup moves.

Last week booked an AGR trip and a paid trip for two roomettes. Neither had the rooms across the hall. I called AGR and they gladly changed that reservation. I then mentioned the paid one and she gladly changed that one too. Took longer with the paid one, but she did it with no changes in cost...

Comparing trains that say HP2 with videos on youtube, not sure that they are the older Budd cars. Have yet to see a video of one using Budd that had HP2 listed.

Any idea what the difference is between HP1 & HP2?
