On the Eagle our car was directly behind the locomotive and I never had any exhaust issues in my roomette upstairs.

The French Toast I had on the Eagle/Sunset Limited the first week of November a huge letdown? The Flex pancakes I agree are not good. The ones I got on the Eaglette to Chicago were overcooked and had very hard edges and were inedible.

Another thing I would like Amtrak to change is allow us to tip using our freakin cards. A LOT of people carry either very little or no cash on them anymore. I know thats asking a LOT from Amtrak's 1970's computer system but it is possible.

With Congress guranteed to always vote in favor of the railroads why would they ever bother negotiating contracts? They know that Congress will not let the workers strike to get what they want so what incentive is there for any real negotiations on their part? The paid sick leave bill will go...

Well Congress came to the rescue of the railroads. Its nice for them to have that ace in their pocket for every contract dispute.

Amtrak's management is what makes it seem second rate. They have done very little to anything lately to inspire confidence in their ability to improve their service. They were given a $66 billion gift that I am sure they will manage to squander without actually expanding service into usable...

For the rail strike scare that was what a month or two ago? Amtrak only cancelled routes for like the day of or day before if I remember right so I would think you are good barring any equipment issues as always.

Yeah im 6'2" and 330 lbs. I was in a sleeper but passing through coach was no issue at all and in fact coach seemed to be far roomier than I would have imagined it would be. Now the stairwells to get to the upper level of the Superliners is a rather tight fit but not that big of an issues once...
