I see this particular train lost a lot of time between Lamy and Albuquerque yesterday (3 hours) and now seems to be running close to 5 hours late. Anyone know what caused this delay? (FYI, leaving on #3 from Lamy on July 4th so have been watching it closely)

Don't think I have ever ridden the Southwest Chief without a full baggage and a coach baggage. Of course, I almost exclusively ride it in the summer when boy scouts are also using it. Many times they have used the coach baggage for the scouts.

Horn is hardly noticeable. Never heard of it being a "deal breaker" for anyone.

We were late on the Southwest Chief and missed the Coast Starlight. They buses us from San Bernardino to Bakersfield. Then the San Joaquin to Martinez to catch the Coast Starlight. In Bakersfield, no one knew anything. We had to explain to the conductor what happened so he would accept our tickets.

I think you have a typo. Should your last destination be Klamath Falls instead of Chicago?
