It's too bad the crossbars and lights are apparently too expensive for a lot of locations. Maybe they can come up with something less expensive that somehow alerts drivers to the danger.

I don't think any of the other passengers were implicated. That only leaves the crew, or someone else aboard that wasn't questioned because they jumped off before they got to the station.

A stowaway could hide out and then jump unsuspecting passengers (like Aaron, who was beaten). He might have pushed Aaron off the train before he joined him and then beat him. THus, no signs of a fight onboard the train and the culprit disappears.

Most trains are carrying freight and I know they don't go as fast as a modern Superliner. It seems like no one knows how these kids got hit, whether they didn't see it or tried to beat it through the crossing, but it looked like the area should have good enough visibility.

Politicians know all about how to extract taxes and they are bound to do something if they think somebody's getting off without paying.

I just wonder that they don't seem to try anything other than the standard headlights. Lights don't cost much and anything to attract attention from distracted drivers might help. Maybe they need something like this

I always wanted to ride on that one but they cancelled before I had the opportunity.

Maybe just nationalize enough for Amtrak. It seems that somehow the situation must change for things to improve.

I used a pass once, and it was a lot of fun. But they didn't allow upgrades to a room. I would check their policies.

I think this is true, but it would help if Amtrak actually was financially viable and pertinent to their lives.

If they develope this I would be glad to try it out. I can see why going through Denver is a good idea, but maybe they could detour south from Salt Lake City towards Las Vegas. That would be an adventure.

RideKC has free rides in the Kansas City metro for the rest of 2023. The KC Streetcar (always free) can take you from Union Station to 12th&Main, then you can walk to 11th and Grand to meet Bus 229 which takes about an hour to get to KCI (MCI).

That is consistant with the wreck last year in NW Missouri, but this truck was hit in the cab, yet the driver wasn't injured? The crossing looks pretty level, and there is excellent visibility.

I think you're right. It might be more of a light industrial area. I don't know much about the Cindy Lyn either. The farther out from downtown the lower the prices.

It's out a few miles, and it's on the green line. It would be a good walk, but you'd be walking along Old Rte 66. I would check it out thoroughly on the web. See if you can find reviews.

Unfortunately, the hotels in Helper within walking distance to the station are haunted, and no one stays in them. Green River has a lot more motels. I stayed at the Robbers Roost once, not too far from the station in Green River.
