    Coast Starlight gets stormed out

I did not realize that.  How come the entire crew's hours start at that point (genuinely asking)? It's not like they're doing "crew work" in a van on their way to the train...

I don't think we need seven different reactions. At that point we would literally have all the same reactions as Facebook, PLUS a "Disagree", "Thanks", and "Confusion". I'm in favor of just having a "Like" reaction, and maybe the "Thanks" reaction. I said maybe because I think most uses for...

    Following Anniversary Engine #145

Thanks. How could I forget the accident and associated thread which led to these glorious ideas for preventing grade grossing incidents!

    Dinner on the Silver Meteor

Unfortunately you won't get dinner onboard. The very last seating time is usually no later than 8:30, so 9:17 (if the train runs on time) is just too late for them to wait for you.  :(

Massive delays out of Chicago Union Station today (2/28)

That bit really is eternally funny.  "Just kidding!"

I see. Do you know what the accident was?

    Solari Board at PHL

Another chalkboard would definitely fit better there than that TV.

It's been quite a while, so I'm wondering: is 145 still out on the rails?

Yes. That's why he said it.

I will concede that this is for two adults, but still:

Here's a zip containing all the emojis and their associated codes. I went this route since a mere link to each emoji might stop working after the update. Unfortunately it won't let me have colons in the file names, so I had to write [colon] instead. There are also text clippings in each...

The hard product is the actual physical and tangible aspect (so the legroom, the seats, the equipment, and so on), while the soft product refers to the separate amenities provided such as food and drinks or service.

    Train Jam 2019: CZ (5) March 14-16, 2019

Yep. I like how they don't even make any pretense of there being more than two:

    Standardizing Business Class

Flexible Coach is usually much more expensive than Business Class. It's often more expensive than sleepers.

This is what I was thinking of: Can you explain what I'm misunderstanding here? Thanks!

3 killed in LIRR train crash and derailment in New York

I really am so fed up with morons driving around crossing arms. There’s a reason those arms are down, people! Saving at most a minute or two is not worth the extremely high likelihood of dying and killing many others in the process. How are people so unable to comprehend the risk-to-benefit...

    Standardizing Business Class

So TQPs are directly tied to the amount of AGR points you’re earning? I thought it just had to do with how much you spent (correlation vs causation).

That doesn't surprise me, considering that is for the nicest accommodations available on each respective train, and it doesn't sound like you at all looked for the cheapest fares. That's sort of stacking the cards against Amtrak.
