    Viewliner I and II discussion

Finally someone actually explained why the VLI refresh was shelved instead of just saying “they shelved it.” I’ve been wondering this for ages, thank you!

    Atlantic Coast Service discussion

From Wikipedia (these are still accurate as of now): A typical Silver Meteor consist as of January 2023 is made up of: ACS-64 locomotive (New York–Washington) P42DC locomotive (Washington–Miami) P42DC locomotive (Washington–Miami) Amfleet II Coach Amfleet II Coach Amfleet II Coach Amfleet II...

    Which car was gutted?

    Refreshed Superliners in service

So it’s been about a month, we’re there any updates on this at the RPA meeting?

    Amtrak dining and cafe service

Is there going to be somewhere to get all the info from the RPA conference? I'd really like to see it.

    Amtrak dining and cafe service

The only differences I can find are the removal of the Breakfast Quesadilla and the dinner appetizers.

    Amtrak dining and cafe service

I agree. I do believe Amtrak plans to reinstate Traditional Dining on ALL LD trains at some point (thanks to the F&B Commission), but it will definitely take a couple years before that happens.

    Refreshed Superliners in service

That’s what I thought. Thanks for the info about the timing though!

    Refreshed Superliners in service

Does anyone know roughly how many Superliners are in service that have been refreshed from the 2021 program? I’ve occasionally seen the refreshed coaches in service from videos on YouTube, but I’ve yet to see any refreshed sleepers, SSL cars, or diners in service. I’ll be on Auto Train in June...

Adding frequency to Long Distance (LD) service

I.E. reinstate the Champion. I honestly feel like there should be four NY - FL trains: The Silver Meteor and Silver Star running the S-Line through the Carolinas and Florida (their original route), and the Champion and Palmetto running the A-Line through the Carolinas and Florida (also their...

New Gulf Coast service (New Orleans - Mobile and Baton Rouge)

Hmm. I wonder if this is going to be the final consist or if this is just the tester? A single Horizon straddled by to ALCs doesn't seem like much of a train.

Restoration of New Orleans - Mobile - Jacksonville Gulf Coast Service

I know, I am in complete agreement. Personally I feel that PNS - JAX should be served by a twice-daily service, while NOL - ORL should be served by a daily LD train with thru cars to the SL and CNO. As I've said before, I feel those trains should be called the Apalachee Service and Gulf Wind...

Restoration of New Orleans - Mobile - Jacksonville Gulf Coast Service

Well this article was written today by Pensacola News Journal. It appears the Panhandle cities are going to form their own coalition and apply for a Corridor ID grant. Furthermore, the CEO of FG&A has said that he will support the endeavor. So who knows? It looks a lot more likely now that...

Restoration of New Orleans - Mobile - Jacksonville Gulf Coast Service

Yes. It was Seaboard's replacement for the New Orleans - Florida Limited IIRC. As for the name for the new NOL - MOB service, I'd have to agree with others on here and go with Gulf Breeze. I've noticed a lot of people saying that reintroduction of service east of Mobile is unlikely (not saying...

    Hello from North-Central Florida

Hello everyone! My name is Seaboarder3023 and I am from North-Central Florida. I am an advocate for expanding Amtrak service throughout my state, especially concerning the S-Line through Waldo, Ocala, and Wildwood, and the SP line through Tallahassee. My favorite Amtrak trains are the Silvers...
