    Memphis, TN

I always wear a helmet like the one I linked there, but no kneepads or elbow pads, though.

They're very fun, just don't crash. ;) I'm still young enough to fall and recover well though. 😂

    Memphis, TN

A fair point, but the sightseeing is a bit of an afterthought. I will be in the Southhaven area for a graduation and will meet up with the rest of my family who are driving there- the train is an excuse to get there a day sooner and of course to ride the train. There's always an excuse to ride...

    Memphis, TN

Thanks for the input! Correct. You've given me an idea, though. I wanted to explore on foot primarily because my Onewheel has limited range, but there's no reason I can't stop somewhere to charge it after exploring the downtown area, maybe around lunch time. Crossing the bridge into Arkansas...

Good to know. I may not need it at all but wanted to know my options just in case.

    Memphis, TN

I will be arriving in the Memphis Central Station and would like to be able to explore Memphis on foot without keeping track of my Onewheel. I see that baggage storage is listed here: Memphis, TN - Central Station (MEM) | Amtrak Does this mean I could leave my bag or Onewheel at no additional...

    Riding in Coach

I've ridden Amtrak many times as child and teen in sleeper class but have never ridden overnight in coach before. I'm planning to ride from Champaign, IL, to Memphis and meet with family there. I will be packing very light (backpack + my onewheel to get around) so I have less to carry with me...

Private cars on Texas Eagle 4/12

Interesting that they follow the engines instead of the entire train.

    Boarding with a Onewheel

Nope, I'd just use it at my destination. I certainly hope not for the $1400 they ask for it. 😂

    Boarding with a Onewheel

I've ridden my brother's and it takes some practice but overall isn't particularly difficult. Ironically he fell and sprained his wrist riding a couple days before I bought mine. 😂

    Boarding with a Onewheel

This Reddit post suggests they're chill about Onewheels at least.

    Boarding with a Onewheel

I recently purchased a Onewheel and think it would be awesome to bring one on the train. However I know they ban hoverboards, presumably due to their batteries. Would I be allowed to bring a Onewheel as a carry on or checked item or would this be prohibited?

    Auto Train service expansion?

And it's doubtful an autocarrier would fit in Chicago Union Station

    Sleeping in Coach/Business

I'm curious, does anyone know what the diner prices are? They don't seem to be published since (correct me if I'm wrong) the CS is the only line where non sleeper passengers can access traditional dining.

    Sacramento, CA

Depending on how I plan my trip I will have a day in Sacramento without a car. I see there are some museums and the like near the station- for those who have visited, where would you recommend staying and what should I go see? I would likely arrive on either 713 or 715 and would depart on the...

Business Class in long distance trains

So in this case, were you able to be upstairs? This is more like what I'd hope for. Was it just diner access or was the food included? I'd be stopping part way up the coast so the distance is no issue. Is it frowned upon to take business class for not business use/go with family (teens and...

    SWC transfer to CS

That would be a tough choice. The entire point of taking the CS for me is to see the coast from the train, but the San Joaquin would be fun too if it came down to it. However, I would probably be shooting for Salinas (the goal is to leave the CS before it gets too close to SAC and while it's...

    SWC transfer to CS

Nope, same as before. It doesn’t look like the CS connects southbound with the SWC? If i remember correctly the SWC leaves LA at 6 and the CS gets in at 9.

    SWC transfer to CS

    Looks like it’s possible again.

    SWC transfer to CS

I put in the 13th and 15th because the SWC departing on the 13th would need to transfer on the 15th to the CS. I'm not seeing anything about a schedule change, though... @tgstubbs1
