Today is the last of dinner service on the Auto Train for Coach Passengers. Curious how it goes tomorrow and if they actually go through with the planned change. Please tell me how it goes as we take the Auto Train in February.

I booked a trip on the Auto Train with an agent for travel in February 2020. I was using points and credit card so could not book online. The agent did not mention the change of no meals for coach passengers.

I have not not received any emails so far today

I have been getting at least 3 emails a day from amsnag saying my access will be cut-off due to inactivety of an ongoing search. Anybody else getting these? They just keep coming on a daily basis.

We have carried more than that and never had an issue. The issue was the stairway to the upper level cars is very narrow and makes it difficult to carry items up or down.

If the roomette was free I would not take it. The upper bunk is like sleeping in a coffin. Your nose touches the ceiling and too bed is too narrow. I am not a large man and could not sleep on it. We folded the beds up and slept in the chair seating.

Just to report train 52 Sanford to Lorton arrived today early 8:30am. We got our car quick and were on our way. Ben

I am sitting at the Sanford station waiting to board the north bound train. It is leaving on schedule as the southbvound train arrived early this morning. Lets hope it makes it to Lorton without any hitches. Ben

We are scheduled to leave Sanford on Friday afternoon at 4:00pm. If there is going to be a delay when would Amtrak contact us? We do not want to rush to the station and sit there for hours when we could be enjoying the outdoors. Thanks Ben

With the changes and the price increase we have decided to fly this time. We have taken the auto train for the past 7 years, but the prices have increased too much and almost the same price to fly.

My dates are fixed as we own 2 weeks of timeshares in Fort Lauderdale and know the dates we need and no flexibility in the time. I usually do not book till July as I would rather have my money than Amtrak having it. I have checked Amsnag and the rate is the same for all of March 2015.
