    You can call 1-800-872-7245 and ask to change rooms. Make sure to keep the same price. Do it as far out before your travel date, the price may go up.

    The only major thing that is difference is the food service on each type of train. The LD train has a full service diner and the regional has just a lounge car with a snack bar with limited food choices.

    The P42 's assigned to the SWC must have the equipment on the front middle axle for the ATC in AZ and NM. This allows 90 MPH running.

    Another reason to get to the lounge early is there are only two or three wall outlets to charge phones and other devices.

    Keep in mind it will be a 25 minute stop if the train is running on time or early. If it is late into El Paso, the station time may be cut short to make up time on the schedule.

    Either a crew rides in a another freight train or are hauled by a contracted van service for a deadhead. There are two main companies that provide that service.

    One is the first generation of Superliners built b/t 1979-1981. The other is the newer Superliners built in 1994-1995. Look up Superliner(railcar) on Wikipedia for more info.

    You want to ride the upper level because the view is much better. Also all access between cars is on the upper level. Make use of the lounge car during the day and eat at least one meal in the diner.

    Two things I remember from doing that trip in 2010. One was the Card was an hour late into CVS. The other event was the conductor giving all kinds of attitude over a very warm Amfleet coach. I spend most of the trip in the lounge.
