11 March 2pm - Georgia General Assembly MARTA Committee Meeting

The General Assembly has a Committee that MARTA reports to since the State Government made the governing and founding law for the transit agency.

Recently they passed out of committee a bill to let MARTA fine illegal parking in the bus lane.

Some points from the meeting

MARTA got assessed, rather than audited.
The assessment uses a different method than previous.
One method resulted in $800 million being owed, another $800 thousand. It is owed intra-agency, from one agency program to another.
New Project owes Capital Funds.
