Any know why? What a shame because 1& 2 are on time will not be after switching cars with the TE.
The Eagles have been losing Major time in the "Black Hole" between STL and Texarkana. Not sure if it's Weather,Mechanical or Freight traffic, all are known factors in this Region?
And as the saying goes, Late Trains tend to get Later, especially on the Very Busy UP Freight Lines in Texas.

Black hole it is, today's 21 already 4 hours late. And it doesn't help the TE when it leaves San Antonio almost two off the advertised and out of its time slot.

Ok, this is ridiculous. 22 is 5 hours late and lost three hours just outside of San Antonio. 21 is over 6 hours late and not even close to Dallas yet.

It appears that 21 (3) has stopped in Fort Worth for tonight, 9 hours late. I'm guessing that passengers will be bussed FTW-SAS (eurgh) and 22 from SAS-FTW tomorrow. There is no #2 into SAS tomorrow.

Even with a FTW head start 22 over 8 hours late at Little Rock. Looks like a 10 or 11 pm arrival into CHI.

Today's 21 is over 3 hours late so far,and I think it has to go to SAS to connect with 1.

1 could be late due to the horribly (12 hour) late 21. Currently unmarked on the transitdocs map... last update was at Taylor at 5:30am.

#1 is over 8 hours late still in SAS and no sign of 22 showing on the tracking system. There is a lot of rain in west Texas heading east, guessing flood issues in the west.

I remember years ago, the SL detoured over BNSF (then Santa Fe) from HOU through Temple to Sweetwater .

I was on this morning's #21/421(04)that arrived 12 Hours Late into Austin @615am being pulled by a,BNSF Motor due to a Crapped out P-42.

#1 (05) Originated in Houston due to the Hurricane precautions in NOL and arrived into SAS @Midnight.

Another of the problems with #21/421 yesterday was the Crew going dead on the Law so a Relief Crew was brought from somewhere in a Van to where #21 was broken down outside McGregor awaiting the Helper Engine.

When we finally chugged into AUS this morning, the Layover Engineer that takes #21 to SAS had to be brought to the Station from his Motel, where he spent the night due to the Extreme Lateness of the Train.

By this time the usual UP Freight and Rock Trains that chug through Austin on the Single Track were underway South of Austin resulting in more delays getting to SAS.

Then the 421 Cars had to be Switched to #1 and #21 Servicedxand Prepped for the turn back to CHI as #22(06).

This morning's #22(06) just departed,Austin already 6+ Hours Late and #1/421 will be extremely Late rolling across the Big Nowhere in TX,NM and,AZ.

Looks like a Late Day arrival into LAX and another O-Dark-Thirty arrival into CHI for the Eagle!

So 22 that left yesterday is now over 10 hours and has not arrived at Little Rock yet, if one can imagine that. Daylight running for Arkansas and I am guessing a 2 AM arrival into CHI. Do not know if the 22"s consists continues on as CONO or sits over night to become the next day's 21, but CHI crew will be scrounging up cars to makeup a consist.
