Additionally, you're choosing a really good time of year to visit. The autumn temperatures will still be fairly moderate, and the scenery will be gorgeous. You'll need a coat if you're going to be in the Northeast at the end of October or beginning of November, though. That's usually when it cools down quite a bit in anticipation of winter. ^_^
