I am currently on 91. It was stated that passengers going to Tampa or Lakeland disembark at Orlando and take a shuttle to those destinations. No explanation given.
Does anyone know why?

Thank youCSX track work on the Carters and Tampa Terminal subdivisions is affecting 91 today and tomorrow, 3/15 & 16. Train will proceed directly to Winter Haven and hold to depart on-time. Bus connections from Tampa and Lakeland are operating.
92 operates normally as it is scheduled through after the work window, however, the work window ran a couple hours over last year and whacked 92 pretty good.
doneEdit: originating 3/14 out of NYP. Mod please correct.
The bus bypass only occurs for trackwork or derailments now. Trackwork is just a few days, usually in the first quarter, each year. Many years ago when the southbound train was many hours late, Amtrak would arrange buses to Winter Haven and perform the bypass to make up time but no more - "Too expensive."The Silver Star often bi-passes Tampa with a bus connection. I have been waiting for the Star in Tampa only to be told we had to board busses to Dade City to board the train. That is why I would drive to and from Tampa rather than taking the train.
I'm not sure that's not penny wise and pound foolish. A forced bus transfer, when you were expecting a train direct to destination, certainly annoys Tampa passengers and its a major destination; However, I've seen the train experience many delays getting to and from Tampa. A late train adds costs itself and that side trip when you're already late aggravates everyone else onboard. The bus bypass only occurs for trackwork or derailments now.
