I've quietly sat and watched this thread and now I have to make my opinion known. Amtrak could be profitable if they dealt methamphetamine in the coach cars. (make it legal since the government runs the trains) They could turn a profit by having prostitutes in the sleeper cars. (make it legal since the government subisdizes the trains) It would be real easy to do in Nevada. Sell pot too, I think its decriminalized in Oregon so just make it legal to do on the train. Have Amtrak sell guns and weapons, they could make a fortune. Make one coach car the pot car, the next coach car the bingo car, poker car, Mustang Ranch car, Timothy Leary car, Keno Kar. Anything in this world can turn a profit if you find the addictions to cater to and sell it to the people who are addicted to it. Legal or illegal.
And since RZD has a few church-cars, lease one or two from Russians - so who feels, sinned too much on the train, can visit it. They can rent a translator and have a chat with clergyman and get rid of some worries about landing in a "warm and familiar place" after meeting with The Creator one day.

Maybe it's possible to raise a sales tax on candles and use the money for some good cause like... Beach Grove?

Having that kind of car is also beneficial because some people may use their brand new guns in a Saloon-Car brawl about a prostitute.... so for some passengers this could turn to be their Last Journay. An experienced pastor will be available (to help the unfortunate soul avoid landing up in a certain "hot" place, otherwise maybe deserved)

My ultimate question:

Where would the equipment come from?????? I suppose they could remodel the old Superliner diners they are taking off, before they change their minds and remodel them back again! But seriously, This would indeed make Amtrak look like the "land cruise" hostile congress critters talk about and would give them gleeful ammo to cancel all subsidies! Maybe we could get the wild boars to provide security?
 
Don't forget the C&W Bar car and the Biker Bar car. One on each side of the Church car, I guess.
There will be a mightly confusion on such train. In order to incorporate the Church car, the other cars will have European numeration. This neat web site http://www.vlaky.net/servis/radenie.asp?lang=1&id=522 shows what cars are on a certain train, their enumeration, even shape and paining.

That's OK. Now why THIS train would be confusing: there will be multiple cars with the same number (No. 666). How to issue proper seat/bed assignement without a major headache?

Yeah, I was actually born in Zhukovski, near the experimental airport. As a kid I did see TU-144 in the skies before it was known. Would not mind to visit it again, did not see in maybe last 35 years. There are some major projects our flying boars are going to visit, so your pigs could be safe for the time being.

- building a 1520mm gauge railway across Slovakia (currently many mountain lines are single-track, no electification, slow-speed)

- building a 1435mm gauge railway across Kazakhstan from Chinese border to Iran (so no cars can be re-routed to 1520mm Russian double or quad-track, a major ally of Kazakhstan but all goods from China to Europe can use the single track through different politically 'stabile' "stans" and Iran and Turkey and in the middle of journay put on the ferry across the Van Lake before reaching Europe)

- and finally - the best - the tunnel under Bering strait for high-speed passenger and freight traffic (aside the tunnel just an other 6000 mile track is missing, Dshorsh Dumbyou can't wait, when he can put aside some extra few billions for Amrak)

In last few weeks these three projects regularly appear on German and Russian forums and web sites, even news. Maybe some people already rode the car No. 666 and got more pot they can handle?
