Adding a second passenger in an AGR roomette

If I use points for a trip in a roomette can I purchase a coach ticket for my son and add him to the roomette without using more points? Thanks for any information.

A standard AGR points award provides sleeping accommodation for up to the maximum allowable occupants at no additional charge. Since a roomette is authorized for up to 2 occupants, you can add your son to the roomette with you without using more points AND without having to pay any rail fare for your son, either.

Yup, an AGR roomette award is good for one -or- two passengers (including rail fare, accommodations, and meals for the two of you in the dining car). Just give them both names for the reservation.
