I had the old "This is not a ticket" printout instead of the e-ticket and decided to have the agent print out a ticket for me the day before I left on my recent trip. She told me she could not print it out until I paid $1049. I told her it was an AGR trip and she said she saw that, but still could not print it out until I paid her. I called AGR and to make a long story short, AGR called the agent, who was finally able to print out the ticket.

My original plan was to get the ticket printed in SEA before boarding the CS. I normally arrive about 45 minutes before departure. The problems with printing the tickets took about an hour and I was happy that I decided to get this done the day before leaving. I was also relieved that my cell phone battery did not die during the 45 minutes I was on with AGR.

My advice is that if there is anything that just isn't quite right with your ticket, be sure to take care of it prior to your departure date. Had I waited until my Seattle departure, I would have not been able to board the train.

Yeah with an old AGR reservation that was made before e-ticketing, your best bet is to call AGR and ask them to email you the new e-ticket. When you make a new reservation with AGR now, they will send you an e-ticket.

Sorry you had to wait so long but glad that they figured it out! :)

:hi: Thanks for Posting the Tip Betty! And if you would have gotten Stranded in SEA, the Wealthy and Friendly Charles Hamilton wpuld have almost certainly helped you out! ^_^

Looking forward to your Trip Report and Seeing You in CHI in October! ;)

In the fall of 2011, Ryan and I were traveling on an AGR reservation from Chicago to Washington. When Ryan tried to print the AGR tickets at a QT machine, we had to do a lot of searching before we could find the reservation.

It started printing the tickets but then ran out of ink.

We took it to the counter, and the agent was like, "you can't print AGR tickets on QuikTrak machines. I'm surprised you were even able to get it to print in the first place. From now on, you should come to the ticket counter."

I've printed dozen's, if not even more than 100 AGR tickets via Quik-Trak machines. That agent was nuts or trying to protect his job.

Of course these days there no longer is a reason to print AGR tickets at the station at all.

Last year, I "purchased" an AGR ticket along with a paid return ticket...both before e-ticket. Sometime before the trip, I was emailed the e-ticket for the AGR portion of the trip but, not the return. Since I still needed to print the return trip ticket from the email (they didn't issue an e-ticket for that portion) I went to the Quik-Trak and printed both, no problem.
