A couple months ago I dealt with a purchase I made several months prior through the AGR site. It took ages to get any follow-up and resolution from AGR. The supervisor I spoke to was less than helpful and finally good will points were given, even though they claimed I didn't click through the links on the AGR site (I always do). This was after months of calls and faxing.

My full complaints here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11029335-post10.html

Again partner points haven't reflected for another two purchases so I faxed my request a third time and then spoke with a supervisor named Mark on 2/19. He told me someone would get in contact with me within 5 days. Well, no luck. I called Mark this afternoon and asked why no one had called and why the points for two purchases were still not credited. His notes said that it was because I didn't click through the link on the AGR site. I explained to him that I made dozens of purchases through the site and ALWAYS click through the link!

AGR customer service is deplorable and Mark began to tell me to fax in the receipt and details. I have already done so multiple times! He told me that the only way to get this resolved is to write a letter to the top, that he cannot credit the points as he is not able. This is one place where Amtrak has fallen down hard. I'm trying to plan a long distance trip soon and I need my points! Now I have to find time to write a letter.

Just a thought - do you think that there could be some sort of setting in your browser that is preventing stores from recognizing the fact that you clicked through from Points for Shopping? I'm not exactly sure how they track that you've clicked through, be it the merchant records the referring address, a cookie, or something else. But perhaps try from a different browser? I know others have had trouble getting their points to post here, but I've never had a problem, and I think its strange that consistently every merchant you try fails to post points.

It's certainly not every merchant. Maybe 5 out of 20 transactions.

I'm sure most, if not all, utilize cookies in order to keep track. Some virus scanners will remove cookies, so that might be the problem? plus, in your internet settings, you can control what types of cookies are allowed.
