Hoping someone familiar with the White Plains area can help me. I need to travel to White Plains from Albany. Looks like I should take Amtrak to Yonkers and then I have to get from there to Westchester Avenue in White Plains. Anyone know if there is bus service or how much a taxi will cost? Are there taxis at the station, or would I need to make arrangements ahead of time? If there is a better way than to Yonkers, I'd be interested in that too.

I know I can take Amtrak to NY Penn and Metro North? from GC to New Rochelle and taxi from there, but that seems crazy and adds so much to the trip. Thanks!

Well if you want an all train routing, I'd take Amtrak to Yonkers, board a Metro North train to 125th Street, then switch to a Harlem line MN train direct to White Plains. It stops right in the center of town.

I'm sure that Beeline buses also run from Yonkers over to White Plains.
